We can start selling ATV registrations May 1st of each year.
ATVs years 2000 and newer must have a 17-digit vin number to register. Google vin location for your year, make, and model to figure out where to find your vin number.
YOU CAN NOT REGISTER AN OVERSIZED ATV!
Oversized ATVs are wider than 65 inches and weigh more than 2,000 lbs. per manufacturer's specs.
The 2,000 lbs. does not include any items that were put on the ATV after it was purchased including but not limited to accessories, people, supplies, coolers, etc.

Snowmobiles:
$60 re- registration, $60 new registration

We can start selling snowmobile registrations late September/ early October.
Snowmobiles years 2000 and newer must have a 17-digit vin number to register. Google vin location for your year, make, and model to figure out where to find your vin number.
Boats:
We can start selling boat registrations December 1st
Price is determined by the horsepower and length of the watercraft.
Boats 1972 and newer must have a 12-digit hull number to register.
If you have a boat without a HIN # use the form below to request one.
Request for Hull Identification Number Form
Process for Boats with no HIN #
1. Provide your Clerk with a picture of the boat you are trying to register and complete the "Request for Hull Identification Number Form" linked above. Your Clerk will submit the information to IF&W.
2. If the IF&W employee deems your paperwork complete and pictures satisfactory, they will send back the "Hull Identification Number and Serial Number Placement Instructions".
3. You are then required to affix the HIN in 2 places on the boat according to the instructions provided, take pictures of the placement on the boat, and sign the "Certification of Hull Identification Number Placement" form. The pictures and form need to be returned to the Clerk to send to IF&W.
4. If IF&W agrees that that process was followed and the number is affixed correctly, they will also sign the form and send it back.
5. Then you will be able to register your boat.
Lake and River Protection Stickers
The Town of Minot does not carry Lake and Rive Protection stickers.
If you are a non-resident and will use your boat in Maine waters for less than 60 days of the year you can operate in Maine waters on your out of State registration, but you must purchase the Lake and River Protection sticker.

Hunting/ Fishing/ Game Licenses:
Price differs for each license and permit purchased.
Licenses and permits for the upcoming year can be purchased starting December 1st.
Be prepared to show proof of ID and proof that you have completed a safety course or that you have had a that license/ permit in the past.

Saltwater Registry
When you purchase a regular Maine Fishing or Combo License you are automatically enrolled in the Saltwater Registry. The only place this will print on you Fishing License is on the right-hand side of the full sheet of paper you receive as your License. If you wish to fish the ocean you MUST keep your License as the whole sheet of paper to prove that you have met the requirements of the Registry.
Lifetime License holders that will fish the ocean MUST purchase the Saltwater Registry add on each year you wish to do so.

Please make sure to include all information about the ATV/ snowmobile/ boat/ boat trailer on the bill of sale for a smooth visit.
This could include but not limited to: year, make, model, color, vin or hull #, boat horsepower, boat length, boat type, and boat prop type.
The person listed on the bill of sale must register the ATV/ snowmobile/ boat / boat trailer for the first time.
Dealer Sale: Bill of sales showing sales tax was paid and the vin number for the boat, ATV, or snowmobile.
Private Sale: Bill of sale showing make, model, vin #, and how much was paid. The bill of sale must be signed by the previous owner. You will be required to know at least what Town/City the previous owner was from to complete paperwork.
