RE: Next Steps in COVID-19

 

Dear Minot Community Members,

 

In response to the Governor’s directives announced in her address on March 15, 2020 and the recommendations set by the Maine CDC, the Town of Minot is taking the following steps to ensure the health and safety of our staff and community members:

  • First, we ask that if you have been traveling outside of the State that you refrain from coming into the Town Office for at least 14 (fourteen) days after your return.
  • We also ask that if you have the common cold or flu that you also refrain from coming to the Office until you are better, even if you have not been traveling.
  • Cancelling all staff travel.
  • Restricting use of Town Facilities to essential or emergency use
  • We are making sure that workstations and common areas are cleaned more frequently and will use sanitize our hands between customers
  • We will be postponing or cancelling non-essential meetings/events and utilizing telecommunications when we are able to.

 

Please call the office with any questions or situations that you may have, and we can work with you to make sure your needs are met. We are committed to providing our residents with services as long as we are able and are offering the following accommodations to assist in social distancing:

 

  • IF&W

Licenses (Hunt/ Fish), ATVs, Snowmobiles can be done online at maine.gov/ifw/

We can also process them via email/ phone/ fax with credit card payment over the phone or mail in payment.

Boats have excise tax so they must be done via email/ fax/ mail/ phone only.

 

  • Vitals

Mail only- Maine is a closed State (phone and email requests not allowed).

Must provide proof of ID, proof of your right to obtain that record, payment, and a signed request sheet. All this information can be found on minotme.org.

  • Dogs

Email/ phone/ fax with credit card payment over the phone or mail in payment.

Must provide proof of rabies vaccination and spay/ neutered paperwork if applicable

 

  • Taxes

Email/ phone/ fax with credit card payment over the phone or mail in payment.

Information can be obtained the same as listed above.

 

  • Maine Waste to Energy Stickers

Email/ phone with credit card payment over the phone or mail in payment.

 

  • Building/ Plumbing Permits

Forms can be found on minotme.org to fill out and email, fax, or mail back to the CEO for approval.

Payments can be made with a credit card over the phone or mailed in.

  • Motor Vehicle

Re-Registrations:

Through the State online at https://www1.maine.gov/online/bmv/rapid-renewal/

Through the town via Email/ phone/ fax with credit card payment over the phone or mail in payment.

Must provide proof of insurance and mileage. You will also need to be able to email or fax back a signed copy of the registration.

New Registrations:

What can be done depends on the situation.

We are also concerned with older or infirmed residents experiencing isolation during this difficult time. We would like to do what we can to offer assistance to those in need. We understand that this is a confusing and scary time as a community, State and Nation, but we will do our best to help where practicable. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
