Fire Department

The Minot Municipal Fire Department, with its Rescue division, was established by a vote of the Town at the annual Town meeting in 1999. This was accomplished by blending the existing West Minot Fire Company and the First Responders of Minot into one entity employing an ordinance.

In 2024, they voted to hire the first full-time fire chief. A selection committee comprised the Town Administrator, two Selectmen, and two Fire Department members. As a result, Chief Jeffrey Burt was hired and officially joined on June 1, 2024. He works Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Per the Town's Fire Department Ordinance, the Fire Chief appoints two deputy Chiefs and recommends the appointment of all other officer positions. The Chief Officers are responsible for vehicle/station maintenance and developing training plans under the Fire Chief's guidance.
